Asset Life

Solar, storage, and EV infrastructure are long term capital improvements. They reduce operating expenses, generate new revenue streams, capture tax incentives, and enhance property value.

Texas’s deregulated energy market leaves businesses exposed to price spikes during peak summer months. Owning your generation locks in predictable energy costs for 25 or more years and insulates your business from sudden utility rate hikes.

Between the 30% federal Investment Tax Credit, 100% bonus depreciation, and state and utility incentives still available, businesses can dramatically reduce the net cost of their infrastructure while improving NOI from day one.

EV Infrastructure Demand

Why Texas Businesses Are Moving Toward EV Infrastructure

Tenant demand, customer demand, and EV adoption growth are reshaping what commercial properties need to stay competitive.

EV Adoption Growth

Texas EV registrations continue to climb year over year. Properties without charging will be the exception within a decade.

Tenant & Customer Demand

Multi-family residents, office tenants, and hotel guests increasingly select properties based on charging availability.

Future Proofing

Conduit, panel capacity, and switchgear planning today avoids expensive retrofits when demand accelerates.

Competitive Differentiation

Charging amenities support higher rents, longer dwell times, and stronger ESG positioning for institutional capital.

Increased Traffic

Level 3 charging attracts new customers from Tesla’s nav map and meaningfully extends visit duration.

New Revenue Streams

Per session fees, demand charge management, and host site revenue share create recurring income.

Commercial Solar FAQs

Common questions about commercial solar installation in Texas

Yes. The 30% federal Commercial Investment Tax Credit (ITC) remains available, but commercial solar systems must be under contract by July 4, 2026 to qualify. Depending on the building location and materials used, you may qualify for an additional 10 to 30%. Businesses can also pair the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) with 100% bonus depreciation through 2027, writing off the full system cost in Year 1 before the benefit starts to phase down. We will also factor in any local incentives if available.
The added weight depends on the mounting method. Ballasted systems add approximately 4 to 6 pounds per square foot distributed across the roof. Fixed, roof-attached systems add roughly 2 to 3 pounds per square foot. Our engineering team conducts a structural analysis before every installation to confirm your building can support the system.
We recommend an annual inspection by a Good Faith Energy technician to maximize output, address any equipment issues, and ensure continued safe operation of your array. Our Guardian Plan also provides priority scheduling and discounted service rates for commercial clients.
Generally, there is no negative impact on roof warranties. Good Faith Energy coordinates with your roofing contractor to follow proper procedures and protect existing roof warranties. Solar panels can actually help protect the roof underneath from the damaging effects of hail, UV exposure, and other weather events.
All photovoltaic modules adhere to UL1703 certification, meaning they can withstand 1 inch hail at 52 mph. Larger hail events can damage modules, but that damage is typically covered by insurance. Any event severe enough to damage solar panels will likely damage the roof as well, and Good Faith Energy can handle both repairs.
Yes. Every system Good Faith Energy installs includes remote monitoring capability. We encourage all commercial clients to actively monitor their solar production to identify any anomalies that could affect overall system performance.
Good Faith Energy has installed commercial solar on flat rooftops, metal buildings, multi-structure campuses, schools, churches, medical facilities, office complexes, retail stores, distribution centers, and data centers. We design custom systems for each building’s unique structural and energy requirements.
Timeline varies by project size and complexity. A typical commercial installation takes 8 to 16 weeks from contract signing to final interconnection. This includes engineering, permitting, procurement, installation, inspection, and utility approval.
