Good Faith Energy History
Good Faith Energy made its entry into the solar industry in 2014, inspired by our founder Mohammed Abdalla’s transformative experiences abroad. After being let go from a corporate role in the oil and gas industry, Mohammed embarked on a year-long journey across South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Carrying only two backpacks, he spent much of his time reflecting on his life and the environmental impact of his former career.
While traveling by train through Germany, Mohammed encountered a sight that would change the course of his life: vast numbers of rooftops adorned with solar panels, harnessing the sun’s energy. The discovery was startling, especially when he learned that about 40% of Germany’s power was solar-generated, despite receiving as little sunlight as Alaska. This revelation ignited a passion in him to bring similar sustainable energy solutions to Texas, leading to the birth of Good Faith Energy. Our company has since been committed to reducing environmental footprints and promoting solar energy, inspired by the vision Mohammed gained on his travels!
Why We Believe in Solar Energy
Driven by a vision of a cleaner, sustainable future, Mohammed committed to transitioning from traditional energy sources to a solar-electric economy. He envisioned a future where every household device—from your television and computer to your HVAC system—could be powered safely and sustainably by solar energy.
Returning to the States, Mohammed faced challenges while trying to install solar panels on his mother’s house in Plano, TX. He encountered unresponsive companies and received impersonal service, which lacked the educational support he valued. This experience underscored the need for a more customer-focused approach in the solar industry.
Motivated to fill this gap, Mohammed engaged with the North Texas Renewable Energy Group and Plano Solar Advocates, two nonprofits committed to promoting renewable energy education and advocacy. He dedicated two years to volunteering with these organizations, eager to absorb knowledge and experience to realize his renewable energy project development dreams.
A decade later, Good Faith Energy stands as a nationally recognized leader in distributed solar and storage, as well as roofing. We are more than just an electrical and roofing contractor; we are a movement, a lifestyle, and a community-focused family.
