Solar Installation 2018-06-09T21:23:21+00:00

One of the most overlooked aspects of going solar is the installation itself.

Who is going to be doing the install?

Will it be the same as the sales company?

How many hand-offs will there be post-sale?

At Good Faith Energy, all of our installers are employed by the company. As a result, customers have an enhanced solar buying experience and a high level of quality control on the install itself.

There are four main components that make up a solar system install:

  1. Solar Panels

  2. Inverter(s)

  3. Racking hardware

  4. Balance-of-System components

The solar panels are the backbone of the system. They are extremely durable and are built to last 25+ years. The inverter is the brain of the system, converting the DC current to AC current so it can be utilized in the home. The racking hardware is what attaches the solar panels to the roof, or in some instances, ground. The type of roofing material determines the attachment method. For example, metal roofs use clamps, shingle roofs use lag bolts and L feet, while tile roofs use hooks.

Balance-of-System components refer to the remaining, miscellaneous electrical material needed for the successful commissioning of the solar PV system. This includes all wire, conduit, junction boxes, disconnects, breakers, combiner boxes, and more.

Many of our solar systems also get installed on the ground, which are referred to as “ground-mounts”. The process of installing a ground-mount involves digging holes, laying pipe, pouring concrete, building racks, installing the solar panels and inverters, and then trenching the wire from the solar array to the “point of interconnection” (typically the electrical panel or meter base).

While many solar companies out there exist, not many hold high standards when it comes to their installation process. Good Faith Energy only hires licensed, qualified solar electricians to perform our installations. We continuously strive to provide the highest level of service, both in the office and in the field. When you go solar with Good Faith Energy, you have peace of mind that we will be the ones taking care of you every step of the way.
